Management of Change

In today’s business climate being responsive to change is not an option, it is a business imperative for those intent on survival or growth - regardless of the size of company or the nature of its business.

Changes may include new products or services, new or changed systems, re-organisation, flotation, relocation, merger, new sales channels, new supply chain - the possibilities are endless. People’s reactions to change vary widely, but often involve an element of fear that may be translated into obstruction.

Our approach is to help people understand change and make them think through their own contribution. We give help and advice about personal strategies for success, and new skills essential for achieving objectives in the new environment.

Our approach is highly participative and challenging, but also sensitive to the emotional effects the delegates will be experiencing. It makes them stronger and more confident, and able to manage their own behaviour; turning excuses into positive commitment.

Typical training modules include:

  • Introduction to Change Management
Designed to stimulate ideas and discussion on three key aspects: - understanding and planning what has to change - the special skills needed by change managers, and - the human response to change. It helps managers to take a broader view and prepare for the complexity of what lies ahead.

  • Change Leadership
Builds understanding and commitment to an action plan. They learn to manage their own responses and behaviour, and present their views positively and professionally. They then learn to manage and motivate their own teams through change, using objective-setting with coaching skills to ensure real progress is made in line with strategic plans.

  • Change Managers’ Workshop
Takes a more analytical look at change and the ways in which to develop the skills, behaviour and attitudes you need to support business needs. We discuss power, politics and using influence positively, how to manage and encourage risk, innovation and achievement, and how to manage the ambiguity and uncertainty which is inevitable. It is set within the context of real life, and uses case studies and the delegates' own experience to challenge their thinking and the way they work.

  • Delivering Change in Your Business
Shows you how to create the environment and systems needed to ensure prompt, efficient and - above all - correct response to changes in your business. The underlying disciplines needed are those of project and programme management, which boil down to applied common sense. It is presented in business related terms that makes it understandable regardless of your background (sales, finance, marketing, administration, service, technology, or whatever).
You will learn how to avoid common pitfalls that often cause change initiatives to fail by costing too much, taking too long, delivering the wrong results, not achieving real benefit for the business. You will leave with useable techniques to help you select the right projects for your business and be able to manage them the right way.
